තුවක්කු බයිබල් දෑතට ගෙන බටහිර ආක්රමණිකයන් කළ දෑ බෞද්ධයෝ කිසි කලක සිදු නොකළහ. බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේට බුදුවීමට සෙවණ දුන් ශ්රී මහා බෝධියේ අතු කපද්දී, ඇෆ්ගන් මුසල්මානුවෝ ඓතිහාසික බාමියන් බුදු පිළිම බිමට සමතලා කරද්දී, බෞද්ධ වූ නිසාම කොරියාව බංගලාදේශය වැනි රටවල බෞද්ධ භික්ෂූන් හා ගිහියන්ගේ බෙලි කඳින් වෙන් කරද්දී, අපේ දළදා මාලිගය ශ්රී මහා බෝධිය වැනි පරම පූජනීය සිද්ධස්ථාන ත්රස්ත ප්රහාර වලට ලක්වද්දී, සිංහල බෞද්ධකම ගැන කතා කරන ක්රියා කරන ගිහි පැවිදි උතුමන් කුමන්ත්රණකාරී ලෙස ම්රා දමද්දී, සිත් පිත් ඇති කවර නම් මනුෂ්යයෙක් නිහඬව බලා සිටීද…?
නමුත් බෞද්ධයෝ පෙරළා එසේ නොකළෝය. ආගම හා ආගමික ශ්රාස්තෘවරුන්ට ගැරහීම ශිෂ්ට නැත.
බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේගේ පිළිරුවට තරම් නින්දාවට නිගරුවට ලක් කරන පිළිරුවක් ලොව නොමැති තරම්ය. එහෙත් බෞද්ධයෝ ඉවසති… ඉවසති…
මේ ඉවසන්නේ සිංහල ජාතියත් බුදු දහමත් ලෝකයෙන් අතුගෑවී යන තුරුද…?
ලෝකයේ සියළු මිසදිටුවන් ප්රචණ්ඩ සුනඛ රැළක් මෙන් මාරාවේශ වී බුදු රදුන්ටත් බුදු දහමටත් මෙසේ අපහාස කරන්නේ බුදු දහමේ ඇති සාරවත් බව නිසාමය.
මේ සිංහල බෞද්ධ රාජ්යයයි. ථේරවාදී බුදු දහමේ කේන්ද්රස්ථානය වූ ශ්රී ලංකා දීපයත් සිංහල ජාතියත් නිමල බුදු දහමත් විනාශ කිරීමට කැස කවන සතුරු බලවේග හඳුනා ගනිමු. බෞද්ධයාගේ ඉවසීම යනු නිවටකම නොවේ යැයි ඔවුන්ට පෙන්වා දෙමු.
අපි අපේ කමට බුදු දහමට එල්ල වෙන මිසදිටු අභියෝගයන්ට පිළිතුරු දිය යුතු වෙමු. දෑ විරු පෙළහරෙහි සුවහසක් විරු චරිත හෙළ අසිපත ගෙන ලෙයින් දහදියෙන් රැක දුන් මේ සිංහල බෞද්ධ රාජ්යය සිරැකීම අපගේ යුතුකම නොවන්නේද?
ඒ උදෙසා ඔබහට පන්නරයක් වන්නට “උරුමයේ අඬහැරය” අභිමානවත් වූ සිංහල දේශය සුරැකිනු වස් හෙළ අභීත සීහ නාදයයි.

Dear Mr. Subasinghe. It is unfortunate to see such an indecent language from a so called Buddhist. I am also very sorry to note your confusion regarding Anuruddha as well. My dear friend, if I know to type in Sinhala I would have done it. Unfortunately I am not able to type Sinhala, though I can write it. Apart from this Lord Buddha never preached to communicate only in Sinhalese. If we take your argument as a basis for Buddhist, all the true Buddhist should communicate either in Pali or Sankskrit. Mr. Subasinghe, please try to change your mentality to reflect the true Buddhism. My dear friend, if someone is telling a truth, you need to accept it or if someone is expressing his views you need to envisage it, before you put your inputs/thoughts. This is what Lord Buddha preached. Simply it is not right to throw your words in speculations. I agree that Mr. Menikkoda is a clever personality, but his approach in expressing his views is not acceptable under true Buddhist concept, because he is using a violent language which is provocative and damaging the Buddhism.

I need to raise my following concerns to Asoka Menikgoda’s talk. In fact my earlier comment was in relation to the talk given by the podi saadu. Although I agree with certain arguments of Asoka Menikgoda, I am bit confused to understand why in the name of Late Soma Hamuduru and why not in the name of Lord Buddha? Basically, what we understand from his speech is that Buddhist are not in the right tract and need to be back to the right fold. Unfortunately, all the examples and the visual aids he presented to prove his arguments are baseless, since crafting statues or worshipping to statues or giving more profound place to the images of Lord Buddha, is not within the teaching of Lord Buddha. Therefore, if someone’s blood is boiling due to these baseless guidelines, we cannot help him. It is so distress to see that Asoka Menikgoda is digging his own grave. His concern on the death of Soma Hamuduruwo is no longer valid, since it has medically and scientifically been proved that it has been natural cause and the death is due to cardiac arrest. Asoka, please don’t misinterpret the Buddhism to suit your own thoughts. Lord Buddha’s teachings never promote violence in any form, and his guideline is to follow and practice peaceful means in all the circumstances. Asoka is also spreading a wrong message that only the Buddhist clergies are trustees of Buddhism. Buddhism never decline the basic needs of the human, contrary to what is practiced by Buddhist Monks. The final teaching is Lord Buddha is very clear where he has mentioned that people should move seeking the real truth, without sticking to his guidelines alone. This is the message that Asoka should consider.

I just listened to the talk given by Asoka Menikgoda. This person is not worth-calling a Saadu. Saadu is a person who is really a saint, in terms of knowledge and devotion. This fellow lacks both knowledge and devotion thus calling him Saadu is a disgrace to Buddhism. Lord Buddha emphasizes that; if you are proficient in a particular subject, proclaim it or if not it is respectful to keep quite. This fellow Menikgoda is neither proficient in Buddhism nor in Islam. His quotes from Islam is irrelevant and his own interpretations to the concept of women dress code in Islam is pathetic. It is unfortunate to see that this low profile Saadu has been given an opportunity to address an audience, and top of that, his lunatic views have been spread via the net, which will definitely downgrade further, the Buddhism worldwide. This fellow talks about the growth in Muslim population giving stupid example. He himself is not eligible to marry, and how come he can speak on this subject? We know that such monks of this category are waiting for chances!!!!!!! Monks are not allowed to get marry under Buddhism which is practiced today. Lord Buddha himself experienced the marital life, and if Lord Buddha disapprove this basic right of utilizing one’s lust, it is indeed an injustice. The need of the hour is not provocation ,but peaceful marches, instead of throwing derogatory comments. Hope Ven. Sangaratnas understand the real situation and guide the general mass towards right path, instead of producing qualities of stupid Inamaluwe hamudurwo.

It is your personal opinion. But after following the Sinhala history, we could clearly understand that the Sinhala Nation has survived for more than 2500 years because Sinhalese defended the Nation by any cost. That’s what Mr. Manikgoda is saying. Talibans are not only defending their Nation but attacking to others who don’t like to be true Muslims (whose following the entire Quran), so comparing those people with Sinhala People, means it might be something wrong with your head.
