The following images describe that the death of Venerable Gangodawila Soma Thero, was not a natural death and it was a murder! There are several suspects belonging to the murder of Soma Thero and still the current UPFA Government hasn’t get an action to investigate the situation. From long ago there were lots of threats to the Sinhala Buddhist Patriots and the editor of the below images accuses that Shanthi Jayasekara was involving with with this murder. Also lots of Buddhist people in Sri Lanka believe that Christian Extremists killed Venerable Gangodawila Soma Thero as he acts against them.
“Venerable Gangodawila Soma Thera of the Vajiraramaya Maharagama died in St. Petersburg, Russia on 12 December 2003 in his 56th year. He was in Russia to accept an honorary doctorate conferred by the Russian Government. He was rushed to a hospital in St Petersburg after a heart attack. He underwent two emergency operations.
Sri Lankans were shocked and saddened by his death. The circumstances of his death aroused suspicion. It was widely believed that he was murdered by Christian fundamentalists. Therefore two autopsy tests were carried out. A commission was appointed to investigate the death. Out of the four people in the commission, 3 deduced that it was intentional but the other thought the evidence was not enough.” source: wikipedia
The Sinhala Budhists in Sri Lanka must pressure to the current government and specially to the Hon. Mahinda Rajapaksa and the “Ministry of Buddhist Affairs” to re investigate this crime as the current government is appointed by the majority of Sinhala Buddhists.

He was against meat[Fish/Chicken etc etc]eating on health grounds. He once quoted Lord Buddha who said that non-meat eaters are a nuisance to others as well as to themselves since some of them try to impose it on others. Also they do so much harm to themselves by thinking that they are more pure and more saintly than others. I think like Lord Buddha he believed that being a vegetarian or not is a matter of personal choice. Since i never had the good fortune of meeting him personally i only say above from his sermons. He certainly said that in present times it is definitely not advisable to eat any flesh due to so much of growth hormones found in them as well as due to bad toxic found in blood/flesh of those who suffer and die. In my humble opinion meat eating has nothing got to do with Nirvana ‘cos if it was, Lord Buddha would have told in no uncertain terms not to do it. For record, i am a vegetarian too and try very hard not to feel more saintlier than others:)
